Coast Capital has a winning workplace
Coast Capital’s corporate culture is among the top 10 most admired in Western Canada, according to Waterstone Human Capital, a leading executive search firm that conducts an annual evaluation of workplace cultures in organizations across the nation.
Every year, Waterstone Human Capital selects organizations from across Canada for recognition under its Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures™ program, which it launched seven years ago. It also selects regional winners comprising of 10 organizations each from Western Canada, Central Canada, and Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
“We are thrilled with Coast Capital’s recognition as one of the top 10 organizations with the most admired corporate culture in Western Canada,” said Jay-Ann Fordy, chief human resources officer for the B.C.-based credit union. “While we take our business seriously as a financial institution, Coast Capital’s corporate culture is probably best defined by our fun spirit, our sometimes irreverent sense of humour, and a strong commitment to helping our customers.”
Marty Parker, chairman and CEO of Waterstone Human Capital, said there was stiff competition from across Canada to make this year’s list.
“This award recognizes and celebrates the great organizations where corporate culture drives performance,” Parker said. “A strong corporate culture is the single greatest asset an organization can have and the really great organizations, like our regional winners, know this – they understand that culture provides a competitive advantage that sets them apart from their peers.”
Fordy said with recruiting practices focusing more on the fit between the employee and the company and not just competencies, organizational culture will play an increasingly important role in the job market.
“We want to be one of the leading choices for Canadian job seekers, whether they are senior-level executives or just starting off their careers, and we know one of the key things they’ll be looking at in deciding which organization to join is our corporate culture,” said Fordy. “We offer a great, supportive environment that allows our employees to contribute to our success and grow with us and this award provides affirmation of this.”
Waterstone Human Capital will select national award winners from the regional honorees in early November.
