Brain freeze at no charge this Wednesday

Now that summer seems to finally be here and the mercury is starting to rise, some relief from the heat is on the way this week — and it's free.

In what has become an annual event, 7-Eleven stores across Canada—including those in Surrey and Delta —will be giving away free Slurpees Wednesday (July 11) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The giveaway is a thank you to customers for 43 years of downing the frosty drinks.

Nationwide, about 500,000 Slurpees will be served up no charge.
