'Mahriaa shot, keeta goal!'

Chevrolet Canada celebrated the seventh season of CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi with an afternoon of all things hockey at Barnes Wheaton Chevrolet (15250 104 Ave.) on Sunday, March 9.

Participants had the chance to meet and greet Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi commentators Bhola Chauhan, Harnarayan Singh and Inderpreet Cumo, sit behind the Hockey Night in Canada desk, and participate in other on-site activities.

Chevrolet Canada has  supported CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi – which broadcasts NHL games in Punjabi, including famous phrases such as  "Mahriaa shot, keeta goal!" or "he shoots, he scores!" – for the past three years.

There are nearly 800,000 Punjabi speakers in Canada and it's the most spoken language after English in cities such as Surrey and Abbotsford.

Chevrolet Canada is also an advocate for safe and fun hockey across Canada.
