Delta Mayor Lois Jackson brought her own dog Maggie, an English Springer Spaniel (left), Calypso, an eight-month-old black Lab, and Ruby, a 14-month-old yellow Lab to the Delta Animal Shelter last month.

The mayor was on hand at the shelter to hand out licences to assistance police dogs.

Both Ruby and Calypso are in training to become certified assistance dogs for the visually impaired.
