Salvation Army's kettle campaign kicks off
The Christmas season is upon us, and once again this year, the Salvation Army is counting on the public's support to help the less-fortunate in the community.
With the annual Christmas Kettle Campaign now in full swing, Salvation Army Maj. Russ Holland is hoping the residents of Surrey will open their hearts and their wallets.
"Our goal this year in Surrey is to raise $250,000," said Holland, adding although the number of people in Surrey needing help is increasing, he remains confident.
"Every year is tough, but the people of Surrey always seem to come through."
This year the Sally Ann kettles will be in 40 locations around the city, including both Guildford Town Centre and Central City Shopping Centre, and residents can also donate online at www.salvationarmy.ca
All money donated in Surrey stays in Surrey to help the community.
There is always a demand for volunteers to man the kettles and this year is no different. If you are able to help out, call 604-368-1742
