O Christmas tree

Choir-Tree-BJ-Dec3.jpg

Members of Soundscape Chorus sing a cappella Christmas carols during the City of Surrey's official lighting of the Christmas tree in Central City Plaza on Saturday evening.

For the 2011-2012 winter season, more than 240 large snowflake and star pole-mounted features will be installed across the city, and will be complemented by a collection of winter banners. All pole features use LEDs to minimize electricity consumption.

The city is also committed to decorating  streetscapes and urban plazas with tree lighting. Surrey annually installs lights on more than 250 trees  to add colour and vitality to the streets. Look for  lighting displays in City Centre, Newton, Cloverdale and Semiahmoo town centres.
