Surrey theatre group homeless
Surrey-based Royal Canadian Theatre Company is looking for a new home.
Managing artistic director Ellie King says the company is looking for 5,000 square feet of warehouse space or something similar – free or “very affordable”.
The troupe is a registered charity. It needs the space to build and store scenery and other items used for productions.
The company is perhaps best known for its popular Christmas pantomimes, which feature community members alongside professional actors. This year’s panto is the Sword in the Stone.
The group used to have affordable warehouse space in Cloverdale – inside the now defunct Cloverdale Mall at 5710 175 Street. The site is being redeveloped.
