Surrey’s Hollywood 3 Cinemas host charity movie event
Variety Coin Kid Kaden Manji and Surrey’s Hollywood 3 Cinemas will be hosting a movie fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m. with all proceeds donated to Variety – The Children’s Charity.
Tickets to “Frankenweenie 3D” are only $6 each and admission includes a popcorn and soft drink.
Salima Manji, Kaden’s mom, says that the movie is “a fun, kid-friendly show. We are hoping it will be a great success and that everyone will have a wonderful time.”
Kaden is one of 12 children across the province participating in the Variety Kids Coin Drive. Born with a developmental condition that falls within the autism spectrum disorder, Kaden has severe language and speech delays. Variety paid for the expensive speech, language and occupational therapies that have given Kaden the same opportunities as other children.
“I will never forget what Variety did for us,” says Salima. “They really helped us out financially. It was a huge deal and it really gave me strength. Now we want to do what we can to help.”
The Hollywood 3 Cinemas are located at 7125 138 St. Visit www.hollywood3.ca for directions. To make an online donation to Kaden’s Coin Drive, go to www.variety.bc.ca, click on the Coin Drive and then on Kaden’s personal page.
Proceeds from the Coin Drive will go towards helping children who have special needs and their families with grants for things like emergency transportation costs to out-of-community hospitals, expensive medications, mobility and communication devices, and therapeutic programs to give them the same chances in life as other children.
