Prince Rama (Viplav Kar, left) and his friend (Neena Jayajan, right) find a deer (Kuruthika Ratnasingham) in the forest during a production of Prince Rama in the Wilderness at the Surrey Arts Centre on Saturday.

Inspired by the Indian epic The Ramayaha, the story was told in traditional Indian dance form by the Menaka Thakkar Dance Company. The Ontario-based company also presented an evening of dance the same day.
