The senior band and choir at Johnston Heights Secondary are holding a play-a-thon to raise money to attend a music festival in Austria.

The groups – consisting of about 100 students – will be playing an eight-hour instrumental and choral symphony from 12 midnight Friday (Jan. 18) to 8 a.m. on Jan. 19.

The Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival takes place in Vienna, Austria in July. The students have been collecting pledges for the play-a-thon to raise money to go.

Johnston Heights Secondary is located at 15350 99 Ave.
