Pianist brings the sounds of Schumann to Surrey
Acclaimed pianist Sarah Hagen returns to the Surrey Arts Centre for the popular Classical Coffee Concert series.
On four remaining Thursdays between December 2013 and March 2014, audience members are invited to make themselves at home visiting and enjoying coffee and pastries in the lobby, starting at 9:30 a.m.
The 75-minute concert begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Studio Theatre.
On Dec. 5, Hagen performs a solo concert featuring Robert Schumann’s Sonata No. 2, opus 22, which has been described as both “impulsive” and “contemplative.” The piece will be on Hagen’s upcoming album featuring the music of Robert and Clara Schumann.
Violist Marcus Takizawa will join Hagen on Jan. 16, soprano Robyn Driedger-Klassen on Feb. 13, and on March 13, Oto Carrillo, playing French horn.
