New art club opens show in Surrey

Work by members of the Kwantlen Art Collective will be on display at the Newton Cultural Centre gallery through the month of February.

The student group, founded last October, is from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and many are fine art majors.

The exhibit, Under Construction, refers to some of the group’s concerns about Surrey’s rapid expansion and re-branding, the process of creating art and becoming an artist, and the still-growing collective.

A reception will take place Feb. 8, 1-3 p.m. at the gallery, located at 13530 72 Ave. For more information, call 604-594-2700.
