Grand grants for charities

Envision Financial has distributed $26,500 in grants to charities serving Surrey from the Envision Financial Community Endowment (administered by the First West Foundation.)

Among them are:

• Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation - $14,000 to help maintain and build out the Adolescent Day Treatment Program, where modes of therapy such as music, recreation, play and cognitive behavioural therapy greatly aid youth struggling with mental health issues.

• Pacific Post Partum Support Society - $7,500 to assist in the execution of postpartum support groups which provide a variety of free or low-cost programs for women experiencing a difficult pregnancy or postpartum adjustment, including postpartum depression and anxiety.

• B.C. Family Hearing Resource Society - $5,000 towards upgrading outdated audio and video equipment used in observing counseling sessions, which is vital in assessing and evaluating children’s speech, language, social and communicative abilities.
