FatalMotorcycleMVAw-ES.jpg

A man on a motorcycle has been killed in a collision with a dump truck.

At about 1:30 p.m. Monday, the 47-year-old Cloverdale man on a motorcycle heading down 172 Street collided with a dump truck carrying a trailer, which was heading westbound on Highway 10.

He died at the scene, while the truck driver was not injured.

Police say neither speed nor alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by Surrey RCMP collision analysts.

Highway 10 and 172 Street westbound remained closed to traffic most of Monday afternoon.

The Surrey RCMP are appealing to any witnesses to the accident to call the Surrey RCMP Traffic Unit at 604-599-0502.
