Delta Police say a 39 year old and another man, 25, consumed drugs and alcohol before going biking into the park.

Once there, they got into a violent confrontation, with the older man receiving several stab wounds to his back and neck. The younger man suffered several blows to the head.

Both were taken to Royal Columbia Hospital and treated.

The older man with knife wounds was held overnight for observation, but his condition is stable and reported as non-life threatening.

The younger man was released into police custody and has ben charged with assault with a weapon and was released with conditions including no contact with the other man.
