Man sentenced in fatal McDonald's shooting last year
A Surrey drug dealer will spend another nine years in jail for shooting and killing another man at a fast food restaurant last year.
Daon Gordon Glasgow, 27, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder last April after a violent March 27, 2010 incident at the McDonald's outlet near 100 Avenue and Scott Road that killed Terry Blake Scott.
However, he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter and was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison, less one year credit for time already spent in jail.
Glasgow shot Scott, 39, to death during a struggle in the washroom of the restaurant during the supper hour.
Police said both the victim and Glasgow were known to them and that the incident was linked to the street-level drug trade. According to court records, Glasgow was also found guilty of drug trafficking in 2008.
His sentence for the March 2010 murder includes a lifetime weapons ban.
