A man arrested in connection with 15 sex-related offenses – six of them with people under 16 – has been released and has moved into the Fraser Heights area.

Police are advising the public that 46-year-old James Cardno, of Surrey, was arrested and charged with eight of the offenses in March. Then seven more were added after more people came forward.

Police believe the alleged offenses took place in the area of King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue and in Fraser Heights.

The charges include two counts of sexual interference, two counts of sexual exploitation as well as one count of invitation to sexual touching. Cardno has also been charged with making and possessing child pornography.

Police say they have images of other people who have had contact with Cardno and haven't been identified, and believe he accessed children by making acquaintance with adults first.

None of the accusations have been proven in court.

He has been released and is living in the Fraser Heights area and is scheduled for a court appearance on June 9.

Mounties are asking anyone who may know him and believe their children may have been approached to call police at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS if you wish to remain anonymous.
