w-stabbing.jpg

A woman has been fatally stabbed at the Sach Di Awaaz Newspaper at 8138 128 Street in Newton.

At about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, a man burst into the newspaper brandishing a knife. Another man, who apparently came to the woman's defense, suffered several lacerations as well. The woman died from her stab wounds.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has one man in custody and are currently attempting to identify him.

Until the family of the woman is notified and the man is identified, police won't be offering many more details.

There are unconfirmed reports that it was domestic violence and that the woman worked at the newspaper.

Sach Di Awaaz, punjabi for "Voice of Truth" is a weekly newspaper written both in english and punjabi.

Several police cars and emergency health personnel are on scene at this time.
