Man smashes into two townhomes in Surrey

Police believe the man had been drinking, when drove into two townhomes with his BMW this week.

On Wednesday night at about 8 p.m. the man backed into his driveway and smashed into his townhome at 7482 138 St. in Newton. In an attempt to dislodge the back end of his car from his home, he stepped on the gas and sent the vehicle into another home.

He was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

Witnesses say there were several children playing outside at the time and that it was fortunate that none of them were hurt.

Police are recommending charges including impaired driving, mischief and dangerous driving.
