A man has been arrested for robbing a Delta cab driver at knifepoint on Wednesday.

The cabbie drove the suspect a short distance near 73 Avenue and Scott Road after having the knife pulled on him, and flagged down a Surrey RCMP member.

Being alerted to the robbery in progress, the Surrey RCMP officer stopped the vehicle and handed the suspect over to Delta police. He was expected to make a brief court appearance Thursday morning.

The cab driver was not injured, and the investigation continues.
