Surrey man found murdered in Squamish
A Surrey man's body was found near Squamish on the weekend, and police say he was a victim of a targeted killing.
At about 2 p.m. Sunday, hikers found the body of William Lim Woo, 55, and called police.
It was determined the victim had met with foul play and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to take over the investigation.
IHIT believes Woo's death was a targeted killing and will continue working with the Lower Mainland Forensics Team to determine more. The investigation is described as being in the "preliminary stages"
Police say Woo was well known to them.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death.
IHIT investigators continue to canvass the area for potential witnesses and are asking anyone with any information to contact the IHIT tipline at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
