Surrey man charged in Vancouver stabbing
A 20-year-old Surrey man has been charged in connection with a stabbing early Saturday in Vancouver.
Vancouver Police responded about 1 a.m. Saturday after two men got into a fight outside the Anza Club at West 8th Ave. and Ontario St.
The victim – a 32-year-old Burnaby man – was taken to hospital with a stomach wound and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police found the suspect from Surrey in the 100 block of East Broadway and was arrested without incident.
Gbassay Magona-Kallon is to appear in court Sept. 4 on one count of assault with a weapon and one count of aggravated assault. He was not previously known to police and was released from custody.
