PAC’s raffle prizes stolen
Spirits boosted by a playground fundraiser earlier this month were dashed just two days later when thieves made off with a cache of silent auction and raffle prizes.
Sheree Wickham-Foxwell said her GMC Yukon was slim-jimmed overnight March 9 in the driveway of her family’s South Surrey home.
Culprits made off with everything from restaurant gift certificates and grocery store gift cards to coffee and a gift basket – prizes collected for a pub night hosted by Semiahmoo Trail Elementary’s parent advisory council.
The goods, loaded into the Yukon Sunday night to save time before school, were destined for delivery to parents Monday morning.
The winners had helped raise about $3,000 towards a new playground at the school.
Anyone with information in the theft may contact police at 604-599-0502.
