Two arrested in fatal Surrey shooting
Police have arrested two men in connection with the shooting death of a man at a Surrey gathering in May of this year.
On May 3, Noel Jackson was at a house in the 12400 block of 70 Avenue when several people got into an argument.
Two men left the home and returned a short time later with a firearm and another man.
Police believe two of the three males entered the house and shot Jackson while the third person waited outside.
All of the people inside the residence fled the scene.
Jackson was pronounced dead by the time emergency personnel arrived just before 12:30 p.m.
On Monday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced that 21-year-old Jonathan Michael Kishimoto and Michael Alexander Ross, 24, have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
“To obtain charge approval on two individuals just six months after the homicide of Mr. Jackson speaks to the persistence and tenacity of each of our IHIT investigators,” said Sgt. Jennifer Pound.
Kishimoto was expected to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on Monday morning (Nov. 5), after The Leader’s press deadline, while Ross was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
