Mounties hunt for Port Kells gunmen

Police are on the hunt for a couple of men who entered a Port Kells convenience store and fired several shots during a robbery this week.

On Friday at 9 a.m., two men entered a convenience store at 88 Avenue and Harvie Road and demanded cash.

During the robbery, they fired several rounds from a gun, some into the ceiling and some at the store owners.

Fortunately, no one was harmed, but both witnesses and the store owners were extremely shaken up, according to Staff Sgt. Bob Pinkewycz.

The two Caucasian men, described as in their 20s, left the store with a small amount of cash and took off in their newer model charcoal grey minivan, likely a Pontiac, and headed westbound on 88 Avenue.

One of the men is described as in his late 20s, with a medium build, wearing a grey hoodie and black pants.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-3477 (TIPS).
