Girl struck in crosswalk

A young girl has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car on the weekend.

The seven-year-old girl was in a crosswalk atw 74 Avenue and 140 Street on Sunday at 6 p.m. in a downpour of mixed rain and snow.

A van was making a left turn onto 74 Avenue and struck the child.

She was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Weather is believed to be a factor in the accident.

The investigation continues.
