Delta man charged with attempted murder

A man from Delta has been charged with assault and attempted murder after an altercation on the weekend.

At 11:30 p.m. Friday, police were called to what was believed to be a domestic dispute in the 9400-block of 116 Street.

A woman, originally found in serious condition, has been upgraded to stable condition in hospital.

The man, uncooperative with police commands, was Tasered at the scene and was arrested.

Darshan Singh, 47, has been arrested  and charged with two counts of assault and one count of attempted murder.

Singh is due to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on Friday (Jan. 4) morning.
