A Surrey man and woman are facing a number of charges relating to a shooting in Walnut Grove on Sunday afternoon.

Christopher Carl Agin, 29, and Rosemary Souriyavong, 24, were to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on Wednesday. Both are charged with robbery with a firearm and break and enter.

Agin is facing a charge of discharging a firearm with intent, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a restricted firearm. They have been in custody since their arrest on Sunday.

A third suspect, a 22-year-old Surrey man was arrested and released. Police are expected to forward charges against him too.

Police were called to a property in the 8300 block of 216 Street after gunfire was heard.

A licensed medicinal marijuana grow operation was found on the property as was one person who had been shot and another assaulted.

A foot chase of the suspects travelled into a quiet Walnut Grove subdivision, where arrests were made with help from police dog services and the Emergency Response Team. The grow-op was the likely target of the suspects who are all known to police. A gun was also seized.
