Five men have been taken into custody after several shots were fired into an empty car in Newton this week.

On Tuesday night, at about 10:30, police were called to a report of shots fired in the 7500-block 144 Street.

After patrolling the area, police found a Black Jetta with five people inside, who were believed to be responsible for the gunfire.

They were taken into custody, and charges are being considered.
