Man who fell from SUV has died

A young man has died after falling off the back of an SUV in North Surrey earlier this month.

On May 19, a 23-year-old Surrey man was driving his SUV out from the back of his house, down the lane and up to the front of the home.

Three men decided to hop onto the back end of the vehicle with the tailgate down for the ride.

The driver accelerated when he got onto 128A Street near 100 Avenue, and while two of the men were able to hang on, a third tumbled out and hit his head on the pavement.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition, and died on May 23.

Charges are being considered against the driver.

Police believe drugs or alcohol may have been contributing factors in the accident.
