LETTER: Pick pot over alcohol

As a parent, I have to disagree with the stigma on marijuana.

If I were to let my child choose between drinking and marijuana I would choose the substance that does not kill or lead to violence. Yes, that’s right, marijuana. It is a natural benign product that does not promote violence and even though you might say it causes harm, it is far less harmful than alcohol.

I dare parents that have children going out to parties ask this question “what are you going to choose? Alcohol or marijuana?”

For the sake of our childrens’ survival and the harm that comes of this corporate bottled product why are we not asking the questions that our children realize before we do?
