LETTER: Levys should sue for financial compensation
An open letter to Michael and Deborah Levy:
Since the criminal justice system seems unable to mete out a reasonable punishment for the injuries you suffered, I suggest you turn to the civil court system.
Sue the perpetrators of this heinous crime for millions of dollars.
When you get your judgment – which you most surely will, given that the criminal courts have already determined guilt beyond a reasonable doubt – garnishee their salaries at every workplace they enter for the rest of their lives.
Every payday, they will see a substantial deduction from their earnings that will be a reminder of the harm they have done.
This will ensure that they take responsibility for their crimes, and I strongly suspect there will be no more laughter in the elevator.
