LETTER: We can all celebrate Christmas
I have been reading discussions about some people protesting Christmas activities and one lady pulling her son out of school. Christmas is accepted and celebrated just about every where in the world, even in countries where the majority is not Christian.
We have become a multicultural, multi-racial country and learn to respect the religious activities and celebrations of various religions we have in this country.
I have many co-workers and neighbours who belong to different religions. And I have participated and exchanged well-wishes whenever they celebrated their religious celebrations. That doesn’t force me to convert from my religion.
If we look at various religions the basic teachings are the same. They all preach of one god, and being good, understanding and caring to other human beings.
If we do follow all the basic teachings of our respective religions then we can all celebrate Christmas together without any controversy.
