Re: “Newton resident fuming over illegal building,” Oct. 4.
Mr. Houghton, I understand your frustration, and know that after 30 years of you being in construction, you have seen this coming for a long time.
No one can tell me that the city cannot get this whole illegal building situation under control. And if they cannot, maybe let a group of concerned residents, like Mr. Houghton with construction knowledge, form a committee to come up with a plan to resolve this problem.
Using their experience in the construction business and the tax dollars they pay to live in Surrey, they have to do a better job than our city hall people are doing now.
Do not forget an election is coming soon. Do you want to keep hearing the same blah-blah-blah from Surrey politicians – or is it time for a change?
