Slow down indeed
Regarding the letter “Slow down, everyone,” The Leader, Oct. 25.
All elementary schools that I know of are in the populated area in which they serve, and have a school playground and often a little park which are used by the children in that neighbourhood throughout the year.
In my opinion, it would benefit everyone if school/playground zones were to have reduced speed limits from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. – not just during school attendance days, but 365 days of the year, including school days, weekends, vacations and holidays.
This would ease the burden on children and families, as well as drivers having to remember which days are for which speed limit.
Sure it would slow down traffic – big whoop.
Driving speed within city limits can stand some slowing down.
