Concert series a hidden gem

w-piano.jpg

Re:  Surrey Art Centre’s Classical Coffee Concerts.

What a hidden gem this series is.

I attended the first two of five concerts in this series and  look forward to the remaining three. The talent  being presented is definitely world class.

Pianist Sarah Hagen and the Surrey Arts Centre (SAC) are to be commended for having the foresight to create such a series for the enjoyment of the residents of Surrey and beyond.

At last month’s concert, Sarah announced that she and her first guest, Polish flautist Krzysztof Kaczka, were about to leave to present their program at Carnegie Hall in New York. Wow – from SAC to NYC!

The Nov. 22 concert will feature Sarah in a solo performance.  Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with  complimentary coffee and pastries served prior to the concert at 10:30 a.m.

For those with an interest in classical music (and a free morning), this series offers an appealing array of talent not often seen in Surrey.

I want to thank the SAC and Sarah for this well-crafted series and the talent being presented. Hopefully it will be well attended and become a staple within the SAC’s repertoire of programs on offer.
