Surrey deserves better
For the past nine months, buses from Langley have merrily zoomed over the Port Mann Bridge without stopping in Surrey.
The current situation is unacceptable when the city adjoining the widest bridge in the world has no access to public transportation. The benefits of getting some kind of public transportation would be tremendous.
At the risk of being cynical, I would argue that keeping people in cars and off buses greatly benefits TreO – the bridge operator. Enough is enough.
Almost 100 citizens have signed an online petition urging the implementation of rapid transit over the Port Mann Bridge. I urge everyone to take a moment and sign the petition at tiny.cc/156stop
I ask Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts: What work is being done on this issue and how will you work to get rapid transit in place for the back-to-school rush – not years from now.
Surrey citizens deserve some answers and action from their elected leaders.
