Fear of losing trees comes to fruition
Almost a year ago, I had a letter published about the loss of trees in our neighbourhood due to new construction.
When the trees were cut down on the construction site beside our co-op, I was not only distressed by the amount of trees that were being cut down, but the effect it would have on our already established trees.
My fear of losing our trees has come to fruition; our entire row of trees that grow right beside where they cut down the other trees are dying.
Our beautiful evergreens have been growing big and strong for over 20 years and now we are going to lose them all.
It is one thing to cut down trees on a construction site, but when it is mentioned to you that cutting those trees could affect someone else’s trees, I call foul, especially when no one seems to care. I don’t even know what kind of recourse we have, but if anyone has ever been through a situation like this, I would very much appreciate some feedback. We are a very small co-op and don’t have the money to replace all the trees that are slowly dying.
