United teams winless

Undefeated in a combined seven games to date this season, Surrey United dropped all three Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL) games last week.

The men’s team, winners of their first four starts, were beaten twice.

They fell 5-3 to Khalsa SC last Thursday night in Coquitlam. Andrew Reed, Matt Rosunland and Tome Lowndes were the Surrey goal scorers.

Playing at home against Victoria United at Cloverdale Athletic Park Sunday afternoon, Surrey was shutout 2-0.

Now at 4-2-0 (won-lost-tied) midway through the summer league’s schedule, Surrey is in a three-way tie for top spot with Victoria and the Vancouver Thunderbirds.

United plays at Cloverdale Athletic Park twice next weekend, hosting the winless Kamloops Excel SC Saturday at 4 p.m., then kicking off with the Okanagan Challenge Sunday at 2 p.m.

United’s women’s team lost last Wednesday night 5-2 to the Fraser Valley Action, and fell to fifth place in the PCSL. April Coffin and Rachel Pelat tallied for Surrey.

United will be at Simon Fraser University tomorrow (Thursday) night to play the second place Whitecaps Prospects, then will host first place Vancouver Thunderbirds Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Athletic Park.
