Chiefs chosen all-stars
Three members of the Fraser Valley Chiefs were named to the B.C. Premier Baseball League’s All-Conference team.
Brody Hawkins was selected as the catcher on the first team, with teammate Ty Walker named as one of the three pitchers. Hawkins batted .262 this past season, with a team-high 27 runs batted in (RBI). He also hit one of the two Fraser Valley home runs in 2011. He also had a .990 fielding percentage.
Walker led the Premier League with 122 strikeouts, and was tied for third among all pitchers with eight wins.
Outfielder Jordan McComb of the Chiefs was a second team selection, as was Jeff Bouchard of the North Delta Blue Jays, who was chosen as a utility player.
McComb had a .215 batting average, and achieved a .978 fielding percentage.
