Crusaders unbeaten at home

The host team was perfect at a recent girls high school basketball weekend at Holy Cross High School.

The Holy Cross Crusaders won three senior girls games, the closest contest an 83-79 overtime win over the Britannia Bruins. Rachel Beauchamp was theĀ  leading scorer for the home team with 35 points.

The Crusaders began the weekend with a 47-26 triumph over the Sabres of Kamloops. Michelle Zacharuk with 14 points and Michelle Bos with 13 paced Holy Cross.

Bos with 19 points and Alysha Bennett with 11 led the Crusaders to a 72-30 win over the Crofton House Cougars.

The junior girls team played twice. In a 55-45 win over Sahali, Nicole Vanderhelm scored 22 points and Samantha Beauchamp adxded 10 for Holy Cross.

Vanderhelm with 20 points and Beauchamp with 13 were the top scorers in a 60-36 win over Britannia.
