Hat trick for Brar

Josh Brar netted three goals and assisted on one other to lead the Leafs to a 6-5 win over 6-5 win over the Senators in the championship game of Surrey Minor Hockey Association’s Bantam C in-house playoff.

Sanjeeve Sharma and Ryan Broderick each had a goal and one assist, with Cary Sutter notching one goal. Tyler Kristensen with two, Sandeep Gill and Cole Correia were credited with assists.

Rajan Rai scored twice for the Senators, with singles coming from Jake Martic, Jordan Hunt and Ryan Scott. Earning one assist each were Anthony Scardera, Mason Burg, Bik Dhindsa and Jason Makowski.

Lawn bowlers host open house

The Kennedy Park Lawn Bowling Club is hosting an open house Sunday, April 13 for those wanting to learn more about the sport.

Activities get under way at 2 p.m., and those attending will be told of the Bowls Buddies program, and learn more about “a fun, healthy and inexpensive activity for all ages.”

Opening day to the lawn bowling season is on Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m. The club is located at 11760 88 Ave. in North Delta.

Four helpers for Trautman

Jackie Trautman assisted on all four goals to lead the Surrey Mud Sharks to a 4-2 win over the Tsawwassen Falcons in an under-18 field hockey game.

Neesha Rai, Alysha Gill and Sam Anderson each scored once and assisted on another for the Mud Sharks, with Jenny Reich netting the fourth goal. Samantha Wichary earned the win in goal.
