Another goalie named POW
For the second consecutive week, a goaltender from Surrey has been named the Gongshow BCHL Player Of the Week (POW).
Powell River Kings netminder Jonah Imoo is the POW for the week ending Oct. 21, the B.C. Hockey League (BCHL) announced Monday.
Imoo helped the Kings to three wins and recorded his first shutout of the season in the process. The 18 year-old stopped 72 of 74 shots for a .973 save percentage to go along with a 0.67 goals-against average.
Imoo evened his record at 7-7 on the season as the Kings leapfrogged the Nanaimo Clippers in the Island Division standings.
For the week ending Oct. 14, Prince George goaltender Kirk Thompson of Surrey was the BCHL Player Of the Week.
