Bruce lands PACWEST award

Kayla Bruce of the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) has been named the PACWEST women’s volleyball player of the week for Nov. 9-11.

Bruce led the Cascades to a two-game sweep of the College of the Rockies Avalanche last weekend to improve to a perfect 8-0 (won-lost) record, good for fifth in the CCAA national rankings. The fifth-year middle from Surrey, recorded 23 kills, 13 blocks and four aces against the Avalanche, averaging 5.71 points per set.

“These are great statistics,” noted UFV head coach Dennis Bokenfohr. “A complete performance by our All-Canadian.”
