Katy Klomps of Surrey has been named the Female Student Athlete of the Year at UBC (University of British Columbia) Okanagan.

The third year middle of the UBC Okanagan Heat women’s volleyball team has maintained an 80 per cent average in the class despite a hectic volleyball schedule

Klomps finished second in the CIS (Canadian Inveruniversity Sports) in blocks-per-set and was a Canada West Second Team All-Star, leading the Heat to its first-ever Canada West Final Four playoff.

She is the 13th women’s volleyball player to earn the award since it was first presented in 1991-92.
