Flames assign 15 players to Abbotsford


The Abbotsford Heat will welcome its first wave of players on Thursday.

The NHL parent Calgary Flames assigned 15 players to the Heat on Wednesday afternoon. That group will skate Thursday morning at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary before departing to join the Heat.

The Abbotsford-bound group includes:

The Heat's training camp begins Friday, Sept. 23 with a practice at Matsqui Recreation Centre (1:45-2:45 p.m.). On Saturday, the Heat are at MSA Arena (3:45-5:30 p.m.). On Sunday, they have a morning skate at Abbotsford Rec Centre (10:45-11:15 a.m.) prior to their pre-season game against UBC in the evening (6:05 p.m., South Surrey Arena).
